Territory
Nolè Valle d’Itria is located in Locorotondo, in the hearth of Itria Valley, in Apulia. It’s only 10 minutes from Alberobello (Unesco World Heritage Site since 1996), Cisternino and Martina Franca far. The historical center has a circular shape which gave it the the nineteenth-century toponym “Locus Rotundus”, earlier , during the Middle Age, Casale San Giorgio and it rises on a hill high 410 mt above sea level. It lets you enjoy a wonderful panoramic sight from the valley, along the route Martina Franca-Locorotondo, while the upper part, via Nardelli, called “seafront” by local inhabitants, it’s a natural balcony on the charming valley and its trulli, you can enjoy the cummèrse, typical houses whit sloping roof, terracing and vineyards, lots delimited by dry stone walls. The countryside of Locorotondo is very wide with more than 100 contrade (pieces of land in the countryside), whose names originate from anecdotes, geographical features or worthy ethno-anthropological heritage.
Locorotondo is also recognized as one of the Most Beautiful Italian Villages, Orange Flag by Italian Touring Club and Yellow Flag of Cycling Town
